Video Resources

Childcan provides a variety of educational support to help children catch up on learning missed during their treatment. Families of preschool and school-aged children may find the following videos helpful in offering information for their children’s teachers, or in working with their children on the development of various skills.

School Skills Video Series

Students from Western University’s Occupational Therapy program have put together a series of videos to help early learners improve their handwriting, attention, memory and other skills. If your child could benefit from additional time practicing any of these school skills, the videos include tips, reference websites, worksheets and other helpful resources. Many of the  materials described and shown in the video are available to be borrowed from Childcan. Contact Jackie Kinder, the volunteer coordinator for this program, for an opportunity to review and borrow our educational resource kits.

Cancer’s Effect on Learning

Experts from Childcan and Children's Hospital spent some time with student teachers, explaining how cancer and its treatment can affect children's learning and school success. Two videos were created from this session which provide information which could be valuable to educators and parents in helping their children succeed.
