From time to time, researchers contact us looking for YOUR input.

Current opportunities include research looking at:

  • SickKids MetMedCan Study (brain tumour families)
  • Follow-Up Care Experiences (parents)
  • Managing Fear of Cancer Recurrence (parents)
  • How Children Want to Know (kids aged 8-14)

SickKids MetMedCan Study

You may be eligible to participate if you are:

  • a family whose child (ages 7-21) has been diagnosed with a brain tumour
  • willing to participate in a clinical trial

If you decide to participate, you’ll be taking part in a clinical trial to improve the standard of care given after treatment for a brain tumour.

Follow-Up Care Experiences

You may be eligible to participate if you are:

  • Diagnosed with cancer, in Canada, before 18 years old
  • Diagnosed at least 5 years ago and/or completed treatment at least 2 years ago
  • Have not received cancer-specific follow-up care in 2+ years, or never received follow-up care.

If you decide to participate, you’ll be talking one-one-one with a research team member about your experiences.

Parent FORT - Managing the Fear of Cancer Recurrence.

You may be eligible to participate if you are:

  • Parent of a childhood cancer survivor who is worried about cancer recurrence
  • Child is at least 1 month from completion of active treatment
  • Willing to attend small online group meetings

If you decide to participate, you’ll be participating in seven weekly small online group meetings with other parents of childhood cancer survivors and may be asked to participate in surveys.

How Children Want to Know

You may be eligible to participate if you are:

  • A Canadian child
  • Aged between 8-14
  • A childhood cancer survivor OR
  • A sibling or close friend of a childhood cancer survivor
  • Who has parental permission to participate

If you decide to participate, you’ll be answering a survey that takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. By participating, you’ll help shape how cancer information is shared with young people across Canada.
